Introducing Hedgefundnews.com

Internet technology has made it possible to create a unique communications tool between hedge fund managers and offshore investors within a powerful information resource for the global hedge fund community. Our dynamic and interactive web site is designed with the same level of professionalism and integrity, which has made our two existing print publications so successful.

Published annually since 1990, The U.S. Offshore Funds Directory is widely regarded as the leading source of information on offshore hedge funds. Year after year, its reach expands to the increasing number of investors, managers and service providers in the hedge fund community.

Over more than fifteen years, our publications have built a large but well defined subscriber base of hedge fund professionals. Our web site, www.hedgefundnews.com, builds on our ability to reach the hedge fund community to offer proprietary content and create a forum where information and communications between managers and investors can reach a new level of efficiency, integrity and timeliness.

A Unique Communications Tool

US investors are well identified to hedge fund managers. However, most managers are unable to effectively communicate with their ultimate offshore investors. Periodic communications prepared by the managers which typically include very interesting insights about the managers' views and investment positions often fail to reach the ultimate beneficial owners who are reluctant to identify themselves. In addition, in times of rapid market movements, it becomes even more critical for hedge fund managers to convey their views to not only their investors but also the investment community at large.

In most instances, performance information is conveyed to offshore investors out of context through a one line listing in newspapers such as the Financial Times or The International Herald Tribune. Fax or e-mail communications from offshore administrators typically update performance without putting it in historical context beyond the last month or year to date figures. Investors have to maintain their own records and piece together and organize performance information to analyze and assess it in a meaningful way.

www.hedgefundnews.com provides the medium for funds to give offshore hedge fund investors easy access to periodic reports on their fund's activities, while not violating the investors' desire for confidentiality. The presentation and layout of performance information in www.hedgefundnews.com puts it in the proper context, following a format pioneered by The U.S. Offshore Funds Directory. Investors no longer need to collect monthly performance information as it becomes easily accessible and retrievable in one place. www.hedgefundnews.com provides managers with a tool to significantly improve the quality of information conveyed to investors.

  • The worldwide reach of our publications is the basis for the significant traffic on our site among hedge fund professionals
  • Funds have the ability to update monthly performance
  • Funds have the ability to post and archive periodic reports to investors.
  • Funds have the ability to post fund manager biographies
  • Funds may have a direct link to enable investors to communicate directly with them and access posted information that managers want investors to view

Funds which elect to become Member Funds of the site provide all their information to the entire audience of hedgefundnews.com. For a fund which provides monthly performance updates and other information without becoming a Member Fund, that information can only be accessed by paying subscribers of hedgefundnews.com.
